Well Hello there Family
This week was really awesome and full of great experiences. As we were in a meeting with the president, he announced to us Americans that it was thanks Giving , And not one of us realized it .! But i had a good pizza dinner that day. It was great . So i have been transferred into a big Ward with lots of people, which is real different to me until now. ITs called Nonoai, Its really great here . My new companion is elder Piccin, I really like him a lot , we have a lot in common. I hope thanks giving was great for you guys , I really Started to miss you those thanks giving dinners and those 22 shot outs we would have. It was really Great fun.. " It was the beeest! " Where im serving is the old ward of elder wood , They still talk about him here. Its really cool. Well thats about it for now. I love you all so much and i hope all is well.

Sister Rowland's Thanksgiving Email
Hey family!!! This week was one of the best weeks of my life. It was also one of the most difficult because I wasn't with you and I really missed you all! I hope thanksgiving was fun! You will have to write me and let me know all of the fun things that happened! Thanks for the letters and the package a couple weeks ago( sorry so late, i forgot to tell you last week)
So this week, on TUesday, Dallin H Oaks and his wife spoke to us. Their message was incredible. I wish I had more time on here to describe it but I'll include it in my next letter.
On Thanksgiving, Jeffrey R. Holland spoke to us. He requested all of the missionaries to ask questions for him to answer. It was very interesting and a very uplifting experience.
I missed you all so much, and I know I am where i am supposed to be because I learned something yesterday.
I would never have been able to appreciate you so much this season if I hadn't been away from you. Boy i took you all for granted! I am beginning to realize how incredible and how great of a blessing family is. I've always loved you all but I realized just how much you mean to me because I am not with you. Forgive me for not seeing this sooner.
The spirit is so strang here all the time, as you have heard. But I was thinking about how sweet the reunion will be when we have our Thanksgiving dinner together in 2 years. How wonderful it will be! The reunion that we will have when i get back will mean so much more to me because I have gone without it.
Elder Holland said it was okay to be homesick and to miss you all. It made me realize that Heavenly Father has the same feelings of homesickness and love and missings (saudades) for me...For all of us. I am sure it was hard not to have me or Ty with you. It sure was hard for me. And so it is with Heavenly Father. Every person who hasn't recieved the gospel up to this point hasn't been there for "thanksgiving dinner". Those people and empty seats are reminders of the work that we need to be engaged in. We must do everything we can to help those who are not with us "spiritually" make it there for next year. It takes lots of hard work, but if you think of it that way, the love that we have for others makes it really easy. THe feelings of longing for someone can work miracles and make us thankful for the things that mean the most to us. I am so thankful for all of you. For your support! Strength and examples. You mean the world to me. I am so thankful for Jesus Christ and for his Atonement. I am thankful for Repentance. Each of us has something we want to change in our lives and this makes it possible to be better. I'm thankful for the Holy Ghost. I'm thankful for Prophets and I'm thankful for the Priesthood and Temples. I love you all!!!! I'm especially thankful for trials and difficulties. THey are blessings!

dear dad
thanks so much for the wonderful email. I loved it so much. Let Breck know that i am proud of him and thank im for his great example to me . and tell him he better be at my home coming! Well dad , i am being transfered and i am being called to bigger responsabilities.. i am really nervos but the lord has helped me out every step of the way. I am really going to miss this area and i hope to return someday. We found a very special family about 2 weeks ago and they remind me a lot of us, they will be babtised the 5th of december, but i wont be able to be there, but i know that they are really happy. Well i will let you know where im at next week, im packing my bags today. I love you dad

Sister Rowland's email
Ola family! I hope you are all well! I just want you to know that I love you! I am so thankful for this gospel and for the restoration! I have learned a lot this week. My faith has been tried, i've been frustrated, but I have never been so sure of the power and assistance i have had from my heavenly father. I know he knows my needs and hears my prayers and all of your prayers. I have been so blessed this week.
So news on the VISAS! I need a background check, I sent my fingerprints in and we think that we may have to stay here a few extra weeks...(so i will possibly be here for Thanksgiving and Christmas) but we will be going to brazil...and they have said we probably won't be reassigned.
This week for thanksgiving rumor has it that Jeffrey R Holland will be speaking. How exciting!!! We have already heard from L. Tom Perry! It was great!!! It won't be the same as thanksgiving with the fam, but the lord wants to make sure it is a good one!
This week my companion and I taught our first lesson in TOTAL PORTUGUESE! It was amazing! my companion wasn't as happy about it as i was, but it was truly a miracle! It was so exciting and fun. I made a lot of grammatical mistakes and had to say things a few times, but she really understood most of what i had to say. My companion is a little unsure about herself with the language so she doesn't say much. We are going to get her to talk though!! It is going to be so good. I love her so much! She is a hard worker, i don't know why it isn't sticking yet, but it will!
I only have about 30 seconds left, i hope that you have a great thanksgiving!!! Eu Sou Grata por Minha Familia!!! I'm SO GRATEFUL FOR MY FAMILY! I have been missing you a lot lately and I laugh to myself about funny things i remember all the time. People look at me wierd but I don't even care!!!

Elder Rowland's email Nov 16
Dear dad
Thanks so much for the last email that you sent, it really got my hopes up and got me feeling a little bit more relaxed , thanks for the laughs dad, i sure love you. But i do love the guy and i have taken in the advise you have given me and try to understand him, and it has worked, im seeing how his life probably isnt going the way he planed it. And its something that im having more patients on. This was a great week dad and it was full of little miracles. Our relationship as companions wasnt very good at all for a couple of days,but we went and worked and i found more happieness in that and he did as well, we sure love to teach people , that is a fact. But this will be our last week working together for sure. And i can say that i have learned the most for him, than i have from any of my companions.
Well i was looking through the pictures that you guys sent me and i noticed that bird that you and russell were playing with, how did you guys do that ??? Did you summon your eagle powers ? Wha do think i am doing ::??
I sure love you guys a bunch, Thanks Giving is coming up, or has it already passed? How was it if it already passed?
Tell Russell boy happy birthday, and that he has a great responsibility as a deacon. I want him to know that he is still my teamate Too!
Well i love you all so much, Good luck this week, oh did jesse make the team?
