Hey families!

    No worries , I did not have a building fall on me breaking every bone in my body in the last earthquake....

   I actually didnt even feel it or know about it. was it really bad? I hope that things are going great with everyone. Thanks so much for the wonderful emails you guys send every week. I love each and everyone of you for you great force! you guys are helping me along wonderfully. Well this week was great we had some neat experiances and babtised a young man named davis who wants to serve a mission. It was kind of tough because there is not much support in this ward, and are bishop will be excomunicated in a little while , so we are basically leading the ward and our zone, and yesterday was so stressful, but i went into one of my favorite places ( a bathroom stall) and said a quick prayer. i felt and always feel so much better when i do that because the lord wants to bless me , but i have to seek him out before he can do that. I beleive that Santan is giving it his all. because there are so many that arent being able to stand  it . I know that the church is true and i love to learn everyday that it is true. and not why other churches arent.  We have been playing a bit of soccer on our pdays and a bit of basketball as weel and i am loving it. and we are going much closer together. all in all we have a great zone will great missionaries. and another one sent a card to maddy today. so she will not have any excuse not to marry a return missionary!

I didnt know there was an earthquake!!! hahaha - apparently i didn't feel it.

So this week was really great! we baptized twins this week, Rachel and Isaque. They are super cute. Their family are all members. This week in church a sister gave an invitation to everyone to think about someone they know who could use some help through the gospel.

I found myself thinkin about all of the times at home i was invited to do this. NUMEROUS times. Almost every sunday. Everytime I had a face of someone come to mind. And almost every time I said - oh she wouldn't like it, he would think i was weird...things like that. For some reason we decide they aren't ready before we even ask them. I am really ashamed i passed up so many opportunities to share what i had with the people that came to my mind. Perhaps it was a lack of testimony. I wanted the easy road. It would be hard to exit my comfort zone and invite them to be a closer friend and come back to church. Thoughts of doubts always filled my mind. I am certain that this was Satan. My heart is aching because those people who came to mind through all those years and moments are still lost. Those people STILL are waiting for someone to help them. They still havens been invited back as far as i know. I am here thinking about them, and they are at home, still struggling...They have agency of course. But it is hard to return alone.

I know that each of us have people placed in our minds for a reason. I know that we each havve DIFFERENT people placed in each of our minds- because the lord knows everything. He knows what they need. He knows who can help them best. Do not make the same mistake I made. Do not let doubts get in your way. Pray for help to know what to say. When someone comes to your mind -you can be sure that it is a prompting from the lord. If you ask for his help to act on it, i promise, he will bless you with courage, wisdom, and the opportunity you need to help them. You have the potential. I know it. Heavenly Father knows it, and you know it. Deep down you know you should help them. Let go of your fears, push Satan aside. Dont let him hold you down with doubts. Think of the big picture. Imagine life after this and the joy you will have when you look into their eyes and shake their hand.

I miss the office! I miss my home! I miss my beautiful family! But the reality is - I love it here. It is so fulfilling to bear your testimony and help someone else gain their own of the power and divinity of this life. -Last Sunday i was at a new ward members house and they asked me how much time i had. I said 2 months and they said oh what a pity you leave in 2 months. and i said no, i only have been here 2 months. and they couldn't believe it! They were so amazed with my language skills hahahahaha. they thought id been here over a year. so that's goood! woo hooo people understand me!

Hey dad! thank you so much!

 

The food here is just as that cute sister at temple square said "You will love the food!" Really it is delicious! Rice and beans with meat - usually chicken in this area - lots of beef and pork too - pasta, salad, potatoes, jello, always a dessert...ice cream or brazilian desserts....it is fabulous!!!!

I got the christmas package this week!!!! The day after my Birthday hahaha. I gave a cookie to a couple of elders and they opened it and almost ate it. I was about to open one and I looked at it and we realized they were MOLDY all at the same time! It was soooooo sad. we were so excited to eat them! American cookies!!!!! hahahaha but it is okay. IT was really funny!

I got sick this week...I think from the chocolate in the package!!! Sad huh!! I threw up in a members house. It was horrible....I was embarrassed. I couldnt explain exactly how i was feeling, they were worried it was something else -it was quite funny.. Everything is okay though. I felt much better after i got it all out you know?

 

Thanks for the quote dad! It was exactly what i needed. President Hinkley was so inspired!!! I truly do think of all of the prayers that are being offered for the missionaries daily. I remember you pointing out to me that they mention the missionaires in every prayer when we were in the salt lake temple dad. I think about that experience often, and Mom I think of my endowment session often when you were there every step of the way helping me. Thank you so much for all you two wonderful parents have done for me. I love each of you dearly. You dont even know.

I love this scripture - Mosiah 2:17 I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when yea are in the service of your felow beings ye are only in the service of your God.

 

I know heavenly father is very pleased with the way you have raised your little family. He wants others to use the same principles to raise their family. I wish i could give you a great big hug right now to show you how truly grateful I am for everything that you have done for me and taught me. But it probably is a good thing I can´t give you a hug right now, because I wouldnt want to let go of you two! You are amazing! keep it up!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!!! I love you all so deeply. This week was one of big changes for me. We had an incredible baptism. This wonderful lady is named Cicera, and she is simply the neatest person I have ever met. Friday morning I recieved a phone call that I would be transfered to another area. President brought the newly arrived Sister Horn to be Sister Hulse´s new companion and after the baptism he and Sister Jackson took me to my new area. It is called Santo Amaro. It is so much bigger than my first area! I am companions with two amazing brazilian sisters. Sister Wonsjuk and Sister Assunção. They are both really hard workers and I am really excited to be with them. I feel very comfortable with the language, but I need a lot of improvment and here is my chance!
It was so hard to leave my first area. I have only known the people there for a few short weeks, but I grew so close to each and every member and investigator. What an amazing experience. If you could only meet them!!! This week will be great! I am sooooooo excited to see what adventures lie ahead in my new area. It is much more busy than my last area. It will be splitting into two areas soon.
I love you all so much. I will make myself breakfast and eat it in bed and think of you all at home!! I am grateful for you! Best family ever! Thanks for all of the memories. Like always I laughed and cried a little and the people around me thought I was loosing my mind hahahaha. Not really, but everytime i email people wonder what I am doing - laughing and sniffling... Hope you have a great week.

Did you get the list of things i would like last week?? I also really could use january and february ensigns...sorry i know im asking for a lot.  I dont know how to get an english copy here....you can buy some from deseret book for like the next 3 months and send them in june or something. you dont have to send one every month if you dont want to. Thanks for all you do! I love you all so much! keep it up! -i got a letter from cathy pace and from the uries this past week- please tell them THANK YOU and give them a great big hug!  Cathy said brent hunter has got an ice skating rink??? Have you all tried it out yet???
